Knowledge + Love = Wisdom. The Heart’s Path to Knowing
Modern philosophy made an effort to separate subject and object thereby producing what we call modern science. Science is preoccupied with “objective” research trying to keep the observer’s subjectivity out.
For a while, this procedure led to interesting findings sharpening man’s ability to differentiate. At some point, however, it became obvious that something was lacking if the development triggered by the scientific approach was not to have a harmful effect.
Eastern philosophies and Christian mysticism, for instance, have always pointed out that everything is interconnected. A view is suggested that takes the observer as an integral part of research, including his/her spiritual disposition.
In order to get to the sources of knowledge current science promotes separation, differentiation and detailed analysis, whereas wisdom takes a holistic view looking for a common denominator and finding answers in a live synthesis. Science puts questions, wisdom gives answers.
The key for joining both “systems” is to be found in the heart. The uniting power of love which connects everything is waiting to be expanded and cultivated. Every topic touched by love appears in a different light – the light of truthfulness.
This merciful light reveals interrelationships of creation that a merely rationalist approach cannot provide. Without the Divine spark of love all knowledge remains incomplete and inefficient. Without love all knowledge is lifeless. Isn’t it remarkable that a number of successful scientists pointed out that their research was guided by intuition or inspired by a dream?
Time has come to renew science and make it an art producing the knowledge that is needed at any given moment – “on time” and “on demand”. In meditation we associate the subject with the object, the me with the rest of the world. By means of meditating we can tap into the infinite reservoir of enlightening knowledge that provides us with sufficient information for all projects in accordance with the universal law of creation.
The more we identify with our Divine source of inspiration the more our work – scientific or other – will produce timely and persistent results. Knowledge feeds into wisdom. Intuition and intellect may harmoniously interlace guided by love and compassion.
Overmore, we all have collected tremendous knowledge during previous lives leaving traces of it in heaven and on earth. In order to meet today’s challenges and to fulfill our individual tasks, these treasures wait to be retrieved and integrated into our consciousness. I’ll be glad to assist you on rediscovering your sources of knowledge and wisdom.
